The arts are transformative! Most recently Hilda Goldblatt Gorenstein, a painter who had Alzheimer’s Disease rediscovered painting, producing hundreds of abstracts and representational watercolors. Working with students from the Art Institute of Chicago, Hilda, became calmer and more expressive through her painting experiences, and improved her quality of life through another way of remembering. Her daughter went on to co-direct a movie, “I Remember Better When I Paint.”

“, and formed a non-for profit organization called the Hilgos Foundation to further public education and support for Arts and Alzheimer’s Disease. Read more about Hilda and her return to painting.
